Coloring on the lines
Following the ceramic lip with a finger/
An endless loop and death spiral/
The world explodes with color and it falls into gray/
Eeking dye/ tinted puddles with green shadows/ and light/
Everything is too close and a million miles away/
Don’t sit/
Shouldering your way back into the gloom/
Slow dancing at the edge of everything you ever wanted/
And planning to fall back into the uncomfortable-/
Always/
Silence is strong affirmation/ And Destiny decides/
We’re more than content to keep coloring inside the lines/
If we push the boundaries just a little bit further and bleed out/
Imperfection/
The ugly is devastatingly beautiful/
Anti-butterfly
From the lights, we go back to rags/
Anti-Butterly/ Un-growing wings/
Relearning “worm”/ And what it means to crawl when for a moment we could fly/
For a minute we hold onto the last whiffs and fight to remember/even as winter/
Comes in like a dragon/ devouring all proof that there ever was/
Tonight/
The shine doesn’t melt/ but fabric does/
And it was fools gold/
I bet she felt hollow/ going home/
From dazzle to shadows/ to cinders/
To silence/
To solitude/
But she knew that she would have to/
Anti-fantasize/
The magic only lasts for so long/
Gossamer Veil
When I realized there was no leaving the mask/
That it was branded into the being deeper/Like a smothering stain/
Burrowing through the skin and forged into the core/ Melancholy blue and red threads/
Read/From beginning to end/
And sealed off with a lock and key/ Tossed deep into the abysses of feeling/
That’s alright/
Every fairy tale needs a curse/
Every curse has an answer/
At the very least someone who can peak through the screen/
Gossamer thin veil/
And see Humanity behind the silence of the scream/
The enchantment is what makes the story hang/ breathless from its glass ceiling/
It wouldn’t be so shiny any other way/
So maybe someday/
The catch will shatter like white magic at one/
All-fated hour/
When the facade splits/
Breaking into fragments of fairy fabric in the wind/
And you’ll stand as you are/ at the clock strike/ behind the mask/
But if not/
If maybe never/
Maybe Happily Ever Afters/ looks different to different people at different chapters/
After all/ the maiden never waited until she could see his face/
To decide that she loved him/
