Foreword
Despite the fact that we have moved our physical location to the United States, Samjoko Magazine still leaves an imprint upon the world’s literary community. In the last six months, we have interviewed past contributors in Germany, Canada, India, the Philippines (twice), and of course the United States. We have heard the passion for the written word expressed in international voices, and are proud to be able to spotlight these diverse peoples, helping them grow their audience and exposing their literary ideas to the publishing community at large.
Social media and the news can make life seem like an existence only of divisions. There are more than enough grief, anger, and toxicity to consume as one indulges in the fare of 24-hour news, political podcasts, and people commenting relentlessly on the rage bait of the day on social media feeds. Zombies may not exist in real life, but as one watches mindless rage spread across the internet from one news cycle to the next, one may feel the need to run and hide into uninfected zones where civilized conversation can still be had.
Samjoko Magazine hopes to be one of those havens where barriers are transversed. We started off as non-gene specific because we believed that good writing is transcendental. We were more interested in bypassing borders, not creating them, in the hopes that a dialogue between different groups could take place on the digital pages of our magazine. We still believe that, and welcome any and all, no mater your stance on this subject or that topic, to submit. If your writing has something novel to say, we want to read it If it’s well done, we want to publish it.
We also ask that visitors to our site financially support Samjoko Magazine through Patreon or BuyUsCoffee. If one hundred people out of the 8 billion living souls on this blue sphere hurtling through space to destinations unknown were to give $3 a month ($36 a year), it would go a long way to helping fund the magazine. We’re going on five years now publishing, and have remained a paying market, with almost all expenses coming out of pocket. Help us help other writers and artists.
With that, welcome to the Fall Issue IV 2025 of Samjoko Magazine.
